ITALIAN COUNCIL
It is the main project of the DGCC to promote the production, knowledge and dissemination of contemporary Italian creation in the field of visual arts at an international level.

BIENNALE MALTA 2024 – PADIGLIONE ITALIA
Il Padiglione Italia alla Biennale Malta 2024 (15 marzo – 31 maggio 2024) presenta il nuovo lavoro di Eugenio Tibaldi Informal Inclusion, a cura di Francesca Guerisoli e Nicolas Martino.

ROMA ARTE IN NUVOLA
Dal 23 al 26 novembre 2023, la DGCC è presente alla terza edizione della fiera internazionale di arte moderna e contemporanea “Roma Arte in Nuvola” con una propria isola informativa di 48 mq.

Public notice dedicated to the international mobility of young artists and creatives supported by DGCC, in collaboration with the Institut Français Italia/French Embassy in Italy and the IIC Paris of MAECI.

BEL PAESE. PROMOTING ITALIAN ART AROUND THE WORLD
Program promoted by DGCC and the Contemporary Art Foundations Committee with the aim of supporting the internationalization of Italian art.

CONTEMPORARY DAY
Annual event promoted by AMACI that involves museums, foundations, public and private institutions, galleries, studios and artist spaces to tell the vitality of contemporary art in Italy.

ART AND PUBLIC SPACE

This project, curated by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity and the Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali, aims to provide an opportunity to reflect on the most topical issues related to contemporary art in public space.

IT OUT OFF
A project aimed at promoting Italian artists in collateral projects to major international art events, in collaboration with Italian Cultural Institutes.

GIORNATA DI STUDI – AMACI
L’Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani, con il sostegno della DGCC, promuove annualmente dal 2021 una Giornata di studi online su temi di particolare interesse di musei e istituzioni culturali che operano nel settore del contemporaneo.

CONTEMPORARY SCENES
A series of initiatives that are part of a more transversal and inclusive vision of contemporary arts, encouraging dialogue between different languages and current artistic practices.

UN’OPERA PER IL CASTELLO
The competition for young artists to create a work of art site-specific for the Museum of Castel Sant'Elmo in Napoli, promoted by the Regional Directorate of Museums in Campania and by DGCC.

CANTICA21
A public commissioning project for the support and promotion of Italian contemporary art abroad, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

CREATIVITÀ URBANA
Progetto promosso dalla DGCC sul tema della creatività urbana in collaborazione con Inward – Osservatorio nazionale sulla creatività urbana, attraverso un’indagine conoscitiva e incontri dedicati.

VIDEO MAKES YOU HAPPY EXHIBITION
The production of art videos and arthouse cinema in Italy between the late 1960s and the start of the new millennium, exhibited in Rome at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and the Galleria d'Arte Moderna.

EUGENIO BARBA ARCHIVE

An agreement between DGCC and the Apulia Region to implement the project to enhance the Eugenio Barba Archive, which has become part of Italy's public heritage.

ARCHIVE OF GIOVANNI CECCARELLI
A project for the protection, promotion and enhancement of the figure of Giovanni Ceccarelli aka Nerone, starting with the protection of the archive, with an exhibition and a documentary.

QUADRIENNALE D’ARTE 2020 – FUORI
The 2020 edition of the Quadriennale d'arte, entitled FUORI, curated by Sarah Cosulich and Stefano Collicelli Cagol, presents an unprecedented image of Italian contemporary art in an innovative intergenerational and multidisciplinary itinerary.

DOMANI QUI OGGI EXHIBITION
The main collateral event of Quadriennale d’arte 2020, the exhibition presents the work of ten emerging artists from the Academies of Fine Arts selected as part of the AccadeMibact Award.

PREMIO ACCADEMIBACT
An initiative that aims to promote young Italian artists and to enhance the Academies of Fine Arts as institutions of high artistic training, offering professional growth experiences.

CASA BALLA EXHIBITION
For the first time, the extraordinary Futurist house in Rome, in which Giacomo Balla lived and worked from 1929 until his death, opens to the public. A thematic exhibition at the MAXXI in Rome is part of the project.

BIRTH AND IMPROVEMENT OF I LUOGHI DEL CONTEMPORANEO
Project promoted by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity for the mapping and promotion of the network of contemporary art venues in Italy. The platform is constantly updated and expanded.

PROTOCOL OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CONTEMPORARY ART FOUNDATIONS COMMITTEE
Renewed the collaboration between DGCC and Comitato Fondazioni Arte Contemporanea to promote, support and implement initiatives and projects aimed at the development of Italian contemporary art and creativity.

GRAND TOUR D’ITALIE
Project aiming to promote relationships between Italian artists mid-career with curators and directors of international art residencies and contemporary art centres.

EXHIBIT PROGRAM
Public notice aimed at encouraging the critical and curatorial quality of contemporary art exhibitions in Italian public museums and non-profit spaces.

REAL_ITALY EXHIBITION
An exhibition at the MAXXI Museum in Rome that tells the public about 13 projects from the first two editions of the Italian Council (2017) programme for the international promotion of Italian art. A focus on the most urgent global issues of the day.

TOUT COURT EXHIBITION
The IIC in Paris, with the collaboration of the DGCC, presents the group exhibition Tout Court. Un aperçu de l’art contemporain italien, nella quale sono esposte dieci fotografie dei Luoghi del Contemporaneo.

RING OF ARENA AT THE COLOSSEUM

The work "Anello" by the artist Francesco Arena, winner of the fifth edition of Italian Council promoted by DGCC, becomes part of the artistic heritage of the Colosseum Archaeological Park.

KRONOS E KAIROS EXHIBITION
The exhibition, curated by Lorenzo Benedetti, renews the appointment with contemporary art in the monumental spaces of the Palatine in Rome, through 15 works by 15 Italian and international artists.

DA IO A NOI. LA CITTÀ SENZA CONFINI EXHIBITION
A selection of works by 22 Italian and international artists, exhibited at the Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome, expressing their vision of today's borderless and centreless metropolis.

MUSEO CHIAMA ARTISTA
Project realized with AMACI, which aims to support the system of contemporary art in our country, commissioning each year to Italian artists the production of a new work of art.

DE.MO. PROJECT
A project aimed at young people aged between 18 and 35 involved in the various sectors of the visual arts, design, photography, performing arts, writing and dance to offer concrete opportunities for growth.
