The two grants are awarded for the following reasons:

  • Lorenzo Marmo: for the fresh thinking, for his original openness to the contemporary scenario - in particular for the role of new technologies and practices in the production and dissemination of photography - and for his methodology of investigation.
  • Cristiana Sorrentino: for the relevance of the theme within the work of the photographer under her study, for the attention to an aspect still little known in the artistic history of the Living Theatre, for her methodological rigor and potential involvement of institutions.

Both projects, in addition to meeting the requirements of the call, ensure adequate elements of feasibility.

Evaluation Committee: Alida Moltedo (member nominated by DGAAP), Francesco Sorce (member nominated by DGAAP), Roberta Valtorta (member nominated by SISF), Tiziana Serena (member nominated by SISF), Enrico Menduni (Professor at the University of Rome 3, member designated by mutual agreement between the Parties).

The Commission - in comparison with the 91 applications received (of which 87 met the requirements of the call and were accepted for selection) - notes the growing interest of young people from different cultural and professional backgrounds towards the proposal and positively records the significant adhesion by candidates of the age group to which this second edition of the competition is extended. The Commission, meeting on 26 June 2018, selects the following projects as the best ones:

1. Lorenzo MARMO, Italian Street Photography at the time of the web (19 points)
2. Cristiana SORRENTINO, A study on the photographs of the Living Theatre by Carla Cerati (17,5 points)
3. Andrea CAPRIOLO, Interpreting photography. The Milan Militant Communication Laboratory (14 points)
