Sono 10 i progetti vincitori della quarta edizione di Italian Council, il programma a sostegno dell’arte contemporanea italiana promosso dalla DGAAP – Direzione Generale Arte e Architettura contemporanee e Periferie urbane (l’attuale Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura). Tra le candidature arrivate da tutto il mondo sono state selezionate le proposte degli artisti Elena Bellantoni, Francesco Bertelé, Rä di Martino, Sara Enrico, Sonia Leimer, Maurizio Nannucci, Cesare Pietroiusti, Mario Rizzi, Marinella Senatore, Luca Vitone.
The winning projects were submitted by: Centro Pecci Prato – Fondazione per le Arti Contemporanee in Toscana (with two selected projects), Castello di Rivoli (Torino), Fondazione Volume! (Roma), ISCP – International Studio & Curatorial Program (New York), Complesso Monumentale della Pilotta (Parma), Fondazione Made in Cloister (Napoli), Associazione Culturale Wunderbar (Roma), MAMbo – Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna, and MART – Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto. The selected projects showcase the work of artists from across Italy and involve the creation of artworks conceived in relation to the host locations or inspired by reflections on contemporary social and cultural changes. These works range from photography and sculpture to installations and video art.
The projects awarded funding in this fourth edition total 34, selected from approximately 180 applications received from around the world, involving more than 50 countries.
